Sifnos Beaches With Sunbeds & Restaurants

Looking for the beaches with sunbeds? Me too, always. Sorry, but not sorry, I need a sunbed, access to toilets, and let’s not forget that Aperol Spritz.
Sifnos has several beaches where you can not only find crystal clear waters but also someone able to bring you a towel, cocktail, and Greek salad.
Below is a list of the beaches in Sifnos with sunbeds and services.
Platys Gialos (Foodie Haven)
On my first trip to Sifnos, I spent nearly the whole day hanging out at Platys Gialos.
Because Platys Gialos has so much going on, it’s a good place to soak in the sun and Aeagen sea air.
I also found that it was one of the best areas to stay in Sifnos if you want to make your trip all about the beach.
The water here is mostly calm, great for a relaxing swim. Lots of soft sand, so I didn’t need my swim shoes.
Here at Platys Gialos, you will find sunbeds for a reasonable fee, the prices do change, so it can be hard to quote. I would expect to pay from 5 to 10 euros per bed.
These beds pictured don’t have much “serviced” but just down the way at Cafe Meze Misso you can rent a sunbed and order from their menu which is pretty good.
If Cafe-Meze Misso Misso is full, then walk along to the next restaurant. I would try Lost Bay Cocktail!
Restaurants & Tavernas At Platys Gialos
There are many high-end restaurants and locally owned tavernas at Platys Gialos. Here are a few that I visited:

How to Get to Platys Gialos (Platis Gialos)
Luckily getting to Platys Gialos is possible by the public bus! There are a few select times to choose from. But first, you need to get yourself to Faros, Artemonas, or Apollonia.
So if you are at the port, you would need to take 2 buses to reach Platis Gialos, which might be too much. But its really worth visiting if you plan to stay the whole day.
Your other option is to rent a car or take a taxi. There are not a lot of taxis on the island, but if you do manage to find one, you can expect to pay at least 20€ or more.

Kamares Beach (Family Vibes)
Another great beach in Sifnos where you can find yourself a sunbed and services is the family-friendly Kamares.
Here you will find mostly calm shallow crystal crystal-clear waters, perfect for small children.
Kamares Beach is located on the western side of the island at the Kamares port which is convenient, but it can get crowded.

If you want less busy, head over to Agia Marina.
The earlier you set yourself up and claim a sunbed, the better. When I visited I didn’t find a way to reserve anything online. You just needed to show up early to get one.
Restaurants & Tavernas At Kamares Beaches
How to Get to Kamares Beach
Kamares Beach is also a place reachable by public transit! Since it is at the port there will be more departing times than other lines. The bus goes from Apollonia and Artemonas to Kamares.
Beaches in Sifnos Close to Restaurants
Vathi Beach (Vathy Beach)
Not all the beaches that have services nearby have sunbeds. But as long as there are restaurants and bathrooms, I am still keen to visit.
You can bring your towel or chair easily and just set yourself up!
Vathi Beach is nice and sandy with a few great tavernas to choose from. It is going to be less crowded than the other two beaches on this list because of where it is located.

Restaurants & Tavernas At Vathi Beach
How to Get to Vathi Beach
Vathi is reachable by bus from Artemonas. But be advised the bus goes in the morning around 8 and back at around 15, and that is it.
It makes more sense to rent a car to go to Vathi.
Faros Beach
Faors Beach is located southeast of Apollonia on the southern side of the island. Here you can find a few hotels and some restaurants that line the beach.
The water is nice and calm and clear, ideal for swimming.

Restaurants & Tavernas At Faros Beach
How to Get to Faros Beach
Faros beach is best reached by car since there are so few times by bus. The bus goes between Faro-Apollonia-Platy Gialos. Check the schedule for more information.
Kastro Beach
While I won’t call Kastro Beach a “must-visit beach in Sifnos” it does the trick if you are staying on this side of the island.
Kastro Beach is very small and all rocks! They hurt your feet and are slippery as hell! I would HIGHLY recommend you bring swim shoes here.
It is a great place to take a quick dip, I just wouldn’t plan to stay here the whole day.
You will find a couple of restaurants close by, which are convenient for a bathroom.
Katro Beach is also not the easiest beach to get to.
You need to come down all of the stairs to reach the base, which means, you have to hoof on up those stairs when you leave.

Restaurants & Tavernas At Kastro Beach
How to Get to Kastro Beach
If you come to Kastro you need to park up at the free parking lot at the top of the hill and then come down the side of the village to reach the beach.
It is best to use Google Maps to navigate your way there. If you take the bus to Kastro, you need to come from Apollonia.
Other Notable Beaches

Best Time to Visit Sifnos
Before I moved to Greece I was under the assumption that I could just visit any Greek Island as soon as there was a stretch of nice weather.
While that is somewhat true, you need to be prepared that most islands will be largely closed down between November through April.
In smaller islands such as Sifnos most hotels, restaurants, and shops are all closed during winter.
That leaves the best time to visit between May and early October in my experience.
My favorite hotel, Nival Boutique Hotel closes October 1!
The busiest months on any Greek island is July and August. I would advise avoiding those months if possible!
