What I Loved Most About The Restaurants in Sifnos
I am sure it is obvious that I loved the food, but also sustainability matters a lot to me too. I always look for spots that pay close attention to the sourcing of their ingredients.
For example, Bostani Bar with its awesome farm-to-table setup, and Cantina has a zero-waste approach
Then there was the ambiance! This list has restaurants with a great atmosphere. For me, it’s not just about the local specialties; it’s about the vibe.
Typically I look for a place on the water with a view of the endless blue of the Aegean Sea. Or I love a family-run place with a little live music.

#1. Kafeneio Drakakis, Apollonia
Location: Απολλωνία 840 03, Greece | Prices: €€
Kafeneio Drakakis is conveniently located in the heart of Apollonia, the main town of Sifnos, where I enjoyed my first meal during my visit.
This place will give that slice of authentic Greek island cuisine that Sifnos is worth visiting for.
It’s casual, and good for the whole family, while some of the other restaurants on this list are not.
You can expect a relaxed atmosphere with traditional charm, making it a favorite among both locals and visitors.
The menu at Kafeneio Drakakis is simple and authentic Sifnos food. You can see my Greek salad and taramasalata.

Their signature clay pot dishes are a highlight, slow-cooked to bring out rich, deep flavors.
The local feta cheese, which here they serve whipped, and olive oil are standout ingredients. I thought each adding a touch of authentic Sifnian flavor to the dishes.
The combination of delicious, traditional food, and good service, is why it is first up on my list.
Below you can see some recent reviews that fall in line with my experience.
But in the spirit of being transparent, there are some reviews where people were disappointed. Feel free to read more for yourself.

#2. Bostani, Poulati
Location: Poulati, Sifnos 840 03, Greece | Prices: €€€€
Next up is Bostani, located in the Verina Astra Hotel, you’ll love the farm-to-table dining in the scenic heart of Sifnos.
I made this my last spot on my visit to Sifnos, and boy was I impressed.
Bostini has one of the most incredible settings of any other place in Sifnos. Set on a cliff in a lush garden, the view simply can’t be put into words.
See below the outdoor restaurant with views for days of the Aegean Sea.
![A modern lamp stands on a wooden table, with a panoramic view of the twilight sky meeting the calm sea, conveying a peaceful dining experience on a hillside.](https://asinglewomantraveling.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Best-Restaurants-Sifnos-9.jpg)

Their commitment to organic and locally sourced ingredients is evident in every dish.
The freshness of the vegetables, the rich flavors of the olive oil, and the sweetness of the fruit are my biggest take-aways from eating here.
The menu at Bostani is a creative blend of traditional Sifnian and Greek cuisine with a modern twist.
I tried their version of a Greek Salad, seen below, as well as the cuttlefish.

Dining at Bostani is a place where food, sustainability, and a unique setting come together to create an unforgettable dining experience.
The reviews online are solid, you can see below. I saw one review were someone was noting bad service, but I couldn’t have had better service, so 🤷♀️.
#3. Cantina, Kastro
Location: Seralia, Kastro 840 03, Greece | Prices: €€€€
On to one of the highlights of my whole trip, dining at Cantina. This restaurant is an EXPERIENCE.
I loved the laid-back outdoor setting and unique spot carved right into the rocks.
You can enjoy the soothing sound of waves and the stunning sight of the sun setting over the ocean.
Now, I might get into trouble for saying this, but don’t bring your small children here. While I am sure they are welcome, it is a very romantic setting and not ideal for little kids.
Cantina with its famous chef, is all about that perfect blend of casual beachside dining with seriously good food.
Their menu is a fusion of traditional Greek flavors with a modern twist. See below my incredible table with a view and eggplant dip starter.

I highly recommend adding dining at Cantina to your Sifnos itinerary. Missing out would truly be a regret!

#4. Maiòlica Sifnos, Platis Gialos
Location: Πλατύς Γιαλός 840 03, Greece | Prices: €€€€
Then there is Maiòlica Sifnos in Platis Gialos! I will argue that the ambiance of the seaside here is just as good as Cantina. Mainly because I like the sandy beach better than a rocky one.
If you are lucky enough you can dine directly on the sand. But there is no shade, so consider wearing a hat if dining for lunch.
It’s a great spot for those evenings when you want something a little more upscale, but still with that relaxed Sifnos feel.
The menu is a creative exploration of Mediterranean cuisine, using the freshest local produce.
Below you will see the set up of the outdoor and indoor dining.
![A beachside restaurant named 'Maiolica' basks in the sunlight, showcasing white tables with wooden chairs on sandy ground, ready to welcome diners with its charming, open-air ambiance.](https://asinglewomantraveling.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Best-Restaurants-Sifnos-1.jpg)
![A serene beach dining scene with wooden tables and chairs set up on sandy shores, under the gentle shade of grapevine leaves, with a clear view of the sparkling blue sea and a yacht in the distance, inviting a relaxed, coastal dining experience.](https://asinglewomantraveling.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Best-Restaurants-Sifnos.jpg)
Standout dishes I recommend include their octopus with hummus and the deliciously prepared fresh white fish.
Their selection of excellent wines is the perfect complement to their refined dishes.
Maiolica Sifnos is all about the ultimate fine dining experience, without losing touch with the laid-back charm of the island.

Hard pressed to find a bad review about Maiolica! See what they are saying below!
#5. Omega 3, Platis Gialos
Location: Πλατύς Γιαλός 840 03, Greece | Prices: €€€€
Omega 3 is famously always on the list of every wine and food magazine about the Greek islands.
Located just a door down from Mailòica, it offers an amazing view that makes every meal special.
The focus here is on simplicity and quality – think raw fresh fish, olive oil, and fragrant herbs, all coming together perfectly.
Their specialties showcase the best of Sifnos’ seafood, prepared in a way that honors traditional recipes while adding a creative touch.
Now, I’ll be honest, I had to choose between Omega 3 and Maiolica because I didn’t have time for both, BUT, I have a close friend who raves about it.
With her review, that the ceviche was life changing, and the review of others below I feel confident keeping it in this list.
#6. Captain George, Kastro
This casual fish restaurant was a little tricky to find. It is located not too far from Cantina but behind another restaurant.
I actually started eating at the other restaurant till I realized I was in the wrong place.
I got the grilled sardines and a local beer. It was a great spot for lunch after a swim in the sea just feet from the restaurant.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, my phone had a dead battery at the time!
If you want a sneek peak at the restaurant, check out the reviews below!
