As a former user of Active Campaign, and Mailchimp and a current user of Flodesk, I wanted to put out my review of Flodesk Email Marketing.
In this post, I will give you my honest Flodesk review as a user since 2020.

This sophisticated digital marketing service provider was crafted by creators for creators. And you can tell.

Who Created Flosdesk?
Flodesk was created and founded by Martha Bitar and Rebecca Shostak in 2019. It is a global team of 75% women and 75% underrepresented minorities.
A company created purely out of the need for beautiful email templates that are easy to use.
Flodesk focuses on user experience and has a fantastic customer support team as well as Flodesk University. It is like having a help center open 24/7. The university was created by an email marketing expert, so if this is your first time starting a campaign, refer to it for reference.
How Does Automation Work With Flodesk?
Email marketing campaign workflows are a breeze to set up in Flodesk! Unlike other email marketing tools I have used, the setup is very easy to navigate.
It works with a series of commands and outcomes you set. For example, someone fills out your form to get more information or to obtain a freebie on a certain subject.
Here you will set up what the subscriber will receive after the initial request for the Freebie or sign-up.
Review of Flodesk Email Marketing Automation Process
First, you will create the SEGMENT that goes along with the form you created. Then find an email template and customize it with Flodesk’s email editor. Flodesk is always adding new templates!
Then after you customize it’s time to schedule your email newsletter!
Do you want to send your subscribers a series of welcome emails?
If so, you can automate and schedule when you want the first email in the sequence to be sent.
Easily schedule any additional emails you have in your series.
You can also gather more information about your subscribers by adding in other topics they can check if they are interested, see below.
If your new subscribers check a box in your form to receive information about travel tips, for example, you can automate that they receive whatever you create for this topic.
You can also segment your email list when someone clicks a link in your newsletter.
*Though it must be done in a workflow, not just a basic newsletter that you create and send directly to your audience.

Get a good idea of what your audience is into by taking a closer look at the Flodesk Analytics Dashboard.
On this dashboard, it tells you:

- Click-through Rate
- Which Links were clicked and how many times
- Which subscribers opened your emails
- Unsubscribed Stats
- Undeliverable Stats

What Makes Flodesk Better Than Active Campaign, Convertkit, & Mailchimp
My review of Flodesk email marketing wouldn’t be complete without a little comparison to the competitors.
It has been my experience that Flosdesk really stands out among any email marketing that I’ve used for two main reasons.
- The exquisite designs of the templates. Flodesk truly has the best-branded templates in the business!
- User-friendly experience and ease of use of the platform overall. When I used Active Campaign I struggled to figure it out on my own. It did not have many intuitive features. To its credit, Active Campaign is a powerhouse in capabilities to do more than just email marketing campaigns.
Convertkit and Mailchimp have their plus sides, but for me using Flosdesk has been a game changer. Getting set up with the right email marketing software is so important for small businesses.
My emails are the face of my business to my email subscribers, and I want to stand out.
